Our story

We met late in the summer of 2020 on a dating app. Griffin started with this inspired pick-up line: Who would win in a fight, waffles or pancakes? Megan did not realize what this totally unique conversation starter (lol) would kick off.

On our first date, we walked from Griffin’s Uptown Minneapolis apartment to go get tacos and walked around a lake. On our path, we saw a tree sprouting an unidentifiable fruit. Griffin stopped to pick and eat the fruit, which ended up being completely unripe. But Griffin continued to chew through the pain of eating the stiff fruit. Because it was making Megan laugh. This pretty much sums up our relationship: Griffin always striving to make Megan laugh, and Megan’s never-ending willingness to laugh (no matter how dumb the joke).

Over the next year, we both finished our degrees at the University of Minnesota. Griffin received a job offer in the Chicagoland area, so we packed up and moved to the Windy City in May ‘21. Lots of things happened in the three years we lived there. Megan went to portfolio school. Griffin grew his passion for biking. We did a lot of traveling, met lifelong friends, and watched a lot of Timberwolves games (yearning for Minneapolis).

In summer ‘24, we moved back to Minneapolis. Since then, we’ve done a lot too: traveling, spending time outside, and finding our favorite date night spots. Oh yeah, and getting engaged! Griffin proposed in last October along the lake on a walk to our new favorite date night spot.

We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you and hope to see you October 10th, 2026. :)
